I need to transport a Suzuki SV650 Sport with full fairing from England to Scotland. I know it's not too far, but rather than ride I want to transport the bike in the back of a van. What is the best way to strap the bike down, as it only has a side stand, not a centre stand? Any advice would be greatly appreciated to avoid damaging the bike. Thanks.
Transporting advise please!

If you have a transit van, they usually have hooks in the floor for such occasions. A set of ratchet straps won't cost the earth, but make sure you tighten the straps on the handlebars with the suspension compressed so that when you brake in the van, the bike's forks don't compress and cause the bike to move.
Once you've done that, you need to stop the bike moving forwards and backwards using more straps and anchor points. 4 straps should do the job nicely.
could you not make two wheel holders out of timber, like two L shapes front and back to hold the bike upright then use tiedowns to hold the bike in place
