I've worn Sidi boots since my CBT (some 10 years now) and all I (well the misses really) uses on any of my kit is Nivea face cream for cleaning and moisterising.
So far I have had 2 pairs of Vertebra's which just weren't waterproof but have proven to be pretty crash proof. These days I have a pair Vertigo GoreTex which have proven to be 100% waterproof - even when I had to go walking into a boating pond to retrieve a stalled boat!
Hope this helps some.
cheers fella, i assumed thatd be the case, i'll give it a go and see what happens
