over the ten years ive been riding ive owned many a bike but my favourite other than my current bike for many reasons has to be a sp1 i had.
twin stacked campell race cans man it roared like nothing else.
Kawa Z900. More street cred than the KH500 faster than CB750. Mind you I would'nt ride the bloody thing now, I just never had a penny to do anything with it, student.
Biggest laugh on (and at) a bike the Cossack 650 ,a tractor on two wheels. Sounded like a T55 soviet tank! and rode like one.
Great photos by the way.
'WHO CARES WE NEVER WIN...........'
Had many favourites over the years that I've enjoyed 'at the time' which if I had a go on now would no doubt think they were a nail, but the ones I've enjoyed the most were.
Kawasaki S3 400triple which was so tuned it wouldn't run cleanly until it was doing over 90.
Suzuki GS750 lovely bike for the time.
Honda 400 Four
GSXR1100K, kept that 4 years and put 50,000 on it, great bike.
Yam R1 till it ate its own gearbox
and my present bike an Aprilia RSV Factory which is my favourie at the moment..
like many ive had a few over the years but nothing comes close to the 92 fireblade rrp model you could scratch on it two up tour of europe no bother bought it with 4000 miles on it in 93 run it up to 38000 in the 18 months of owning it never cost me a penny for bits and sold it for 250 quid less than i paid for it top bike
Had loads of different bikes over the years but the one that stands out for me was the Yamaha FJ1200
Lovely smooth comfortable ride with an engine that pulled like a steam train. Had so much torque _everywhere _in the rev range that you didn't really need to bother with changing gear. Just stick it in top at around 30 mph & you could ride the torque all day long. Even riding two up with a fortnights camping gear made no difference to it.
5-6 hundred miles a day with ease
Lost count of the number of so called sports bikes that it embarrased by seing them shrink in the mirrors
Has to be my old T509, fantastic but just fell apart after a couple of trips to Germany and the Nurburgring, had to go the journey but would love another Speed Triple, Got a gsf1200 at the moment but it just does not have the same buzzzzzz
.... well I do miss my old SP1
my monster s4
was an absolute riot and great fun but kept breaking down so comes last.
Zx6r was awesome in every respect except comfort ooh me poor ol wristies!!
My Blackbird well thats just the mutts nuts, all day comfort, handles like a dream, looks ace and goes like a rocket. Blackbird the best by a long shot - So far " />
If i could get my hands on a time machine firstly find out winning numbers on biggest lottery win , Secondly buy as many 92 blade as i could get my hands on ! ( absolutely exciting ,great fun, easy to work on, cracking looker r/w/b colours and made me feel like a real hero ) oh and id have a quick bit o fun with an ex from1985 ! ?
Has to be my old Bandit 600 (1998 R reg). Best allround bike.
Toured, Commuted, Trackday, Dragraced (with N20 on it), Isle of Man twice. Jumped it. I even GREENLANED on it. Now THAT'S what you call an all rounder....
I'd have an old shape 1200 if I could. Don't think I want to give up my fairing though....
The best looking bike I had was the Repsol Blade which I had till about 6 months ago. It was a 55 plate. Everywhere I rode, it drew looks..
But the best biek I actually owned was my GSXR 1000 K6.....In blue and white...It blew everything else away. In fact Im considering looking for the Stealth version !!!!
