I am considering buying a Honda CB1300 - although the seat height is 790mm, because of the width of the seat, I need to lower it by 30mm to get my feet firmly on the floor. I have been told the name of a company who make made to measure rear shockabsorbers and could make me a pair which would acheive my aim. My question is:- if I do this will it be detrimental to the handling - someone told me I may have to lower the yoke by the same amount.

My advice is keep the bike standard ,find an upholsterer or ask at the local bike dealer for same ,they can cut 30mm from under the base of the seat and restaple it,tell your ins, job done Or buy a cbf 1000 like mine and ajust the seat to low .
I own a CB1300 and i lowered the front end by raising the forks through the yokes, its quickened the turn in speed which is why i did it. now i'm no expert but i think if you lower the rear end by changing shocks surely its the opposite effect of lowering the front end, it would raise it therefore slowing turn in speed. I agree with jaffa90 if you need to lower the seat height do it by changing the seat. but like i said.. im no expert.
