I have a pre reg 07 R1 and have 2 months warranty left on it. It has developed a slight harsh buzzing from the front between 5250 and 5700 rpm, in any gear or stationery. The bike runs perfectly and the engine sounds sweet though it 'hunts' slightly when idling. I had a pc3 fitted well over a year ago and the buzzing has only appeared this summer. The bike has no been dropped and fuel consumption has not changed. I have read that horsepower and torque cross over at 5220 and wondered if this is connected. The mechanic who fitted my pc3, and also sets up race bikes, took my bike out and thinks it's possible a vibration caused by a loose bit of bodywork - but couldn't find anything. He agrees the bike feels and sounds perfect apart from the buzzing. Any ideas?

I`m not in your league, but my cbf1000 had a buzz at a certain rev range near the cockpit, upon removing my half fairings i found the bolts holding it were under stress until released,i ajusted the holding brackets and elongated one hole.the vibes have gone so may be not a loose bit of bodywork but a distorted one or two.
WHATS A PC3??
If it is still under warranty take it in and ask them to diagnose the problem. But just sounds like some fairing noise, resonance causing a vibration at the R.P.M.
Good on yeah Smidget
People automatically think everybody knows what they are abbreviatingThanks for that
Thanks to you all.
I think you're right and it is resonance. Now thinking that's fine because anywhere else the engine is awesome and feels lovely. I'll check the fasteners anyway because where the plastic v shape joins the fairings to the lower fairings at the front wheel, the nearside of the v is slightly looser. Won't do any harm. Thanks everyone. Arl1
Harsh buzzing on R1
Hi my 2007 R1 started buzzing when I changed the screen, have you added an aftermarket screen recently? as the screen is only held on by the wing mirrors
