I just bought this bike for my Boy for Christmas
What do you think?
I'd be chuffed
the engine go?
just hope he doesn't have to ride too far with that tiny front cog
you need to go get your eye's tested Son
is he....... 16 ?......
Kindle not a fire that you cannot extinguish.
Oldish, he's 10, what made you think he was 16???
Proper old school BMX!
Nice one. I had a Procraft Team Karate when I was 10, was a proper cool bike. Came off it on Christmas Day.
He'll love it, good choice
Dont be surprised....
if he wants to take the saddle right off! all the kids are doing that now! looks ace though, you got a bmx park near you!! i broke my arm a couple of months back going round a bmx track on my mountain bike, should have seen the 12 yr olds crapping themselves laughing at the old fart thrashing around on the floor.
Learn from my mistakes mate, it aint as easy for you now as it was when you were ten. (I still bet you fall off it trying to teach him to bunny hop)
him his first Diamondback when he was 5, and yes he trashed it seat off the lot, he soon learnt that it was better to keep the seat on.
Bunny hops, jesus he does some right old jumps on it. and no i wont be having a go, i stick to doing jumps on me bike now.
ahh the days
raleigh bmx with flat top bars, lay back saddle and stunt pegs spending hours with yer wee gang terrorising the neighbourhood with an endless supply of wheelies, endo's ( stoppies for you sutherners), skids and ramp jumps, dreaming of owning a motorbike, my god that takes me back
Didn't get the whole bmx thing...
despite the lost boys.
I had one of these
Wanted one of these...seemed cool at the time
Should start em off on something simple...........
80's child here: takes me back. Then they brough in geers later with the first mountain bikes, but they didnt really ever get that right for ages. BMX was great for riding around the housing estate as a 6-11yr old kid.
Great present for him. My grandson and his mates all ride bmx's and travel miles in search of adventure. They've all had the traditional mountain bikes but never seem to stand up to the riggers of of adolescent youth.
I had a BMX.. although when I was riding around I never got a nod from anyone with one of these....
Loved my BMX....
Brought a raleigh skyway" /> friggin plastic wheels that where supposed to be unbreakable well f**ked after a day" />
Chopper Had a orange and black one Maybe thats why i like KTM" /> Mind you i done so many wheelies on it the frame cracked" /> My dad killed me for that
think plastic spokes
back in 88 I had thick white plasitc type spokes (I mean about 20 degrees rotation of wheel thickness), and I used to play a game where I would invite all the kids in the street to throw sticks at my wheel to try to see if they could break my spokes as i went past (as quickly as I could go) lol. They succeeded in getting one stuck in my back wheel lol, which brought me to a skidding halt.
The next kid to have a go unfortunatly had it slodge in the front wheel, with predictible results, but the plastic didnt break!
Thats the thing....
The people that added speedo's, mudguards etc etc, plastics a lot of the time ended up getting into motorbikes, I always wanted my pushbike to be a motorbike...maybe because I'm a lazy fucker and I didn't like peddling...who knows. I cycled round skye tho....granted that was almost 17 years ago...gump...lalf a lifetime ago.....On my Rayleigh Maverick.....no electrical issues...just midges and the odd boozing fall in a ditch failure
