Terrible crash. Terrible outcome.
So sorry for his family, and the Moto GP family too.
So sad. RIP
RIP, just heard the news as getting gear on..may take the car.
Was obvious he had been killed. All this shit about he has been taken to hospital for further treatment.Race should have been stopped and the marshals looked totally incompetent.R.I.P. Tomizawa.
Great rider tomizawa
Will be sadly missed by all GP fans God bless you Tomi
My deepest sympathy to your family and loved ones.
So sad to hear Shoya succumbed to his injuries. I feared for the worst when I saw the crash, hoped for the best but knew this news was all too likely. Reminded me a lot of Craig Jones' crash a few years back.
Bright light of the MotoGp family went out today, but I for one along with many others I hope will remember Shoya like we do all the others. Especially Daijiro who was remembered only on Thursday of last week at a special event at Misano.
RIP Shoya 'Happy Smiler' Tomizawa
R.I.P shoya tomizawa 1990 -2010
sympathy for his family and friends
..tragic loss, such a smiley little bloke.....and yep, those f'ing marshalls should be shot, complete lack of respect, tossers! ..hope Scott Redding doesn't take it too hard, absolutely nothing he could have done...
1 year older than me.
Bloody hell. Yet to see the Moto2 and 800s races as I was with some family. Got a text from my mate saying he'd passed away.
I'd never heard of Shoya before this season but I took an instant liking to him at Qatar. Enthusiasm, happiness, a boy living his dream. 1 feckin' year older than me. Somewhat puts it into perspective.
I for one will miss him in the paddock.
It seems the BBC have done the right thing and removed the replays from iPlayer.
marshall investigation needed!
everything about this accident was absolutely awful, from the crash itself to the unforgiveable marshalling.
ive just sent an email to firstname.lastname@example.org asking if an investigation will be held into the way the situation and riders were handled.
it might just be me but i thought marshalls were there to help riders and not just help the race continue!
he was always a gentlemen on screen and deserved to be tended to soo much better. that sort of marshalling should not happen in todays health and safety standards!! i genuinly feel sick to my stomach about it and something needs to be done................
R.I.P m8, you died doing something you loved .
**A tragedy **
poor lad R.I.P

just watched it on you tube looks very nasty and then it looks like the marshalls drop him when hes on the streacher
i fell very sorry for the other riders who was involved
Not a good weekend
for biking a father and son killed on A72 near Galashiels
no other vehicle involved his son only 15 my thoughts to his family.
Awful to see
Was hoping for better news, but thought it might be fatal. When I saw the marshalls drop him I felt really angry. I was shocked to see how they handled the whole scene.
I know I ride like a girl. So try and keep up.
This has just been on our (Spanish) news in detail. From the looks of it, it was Scott that was dropped. Our TV showed Tomizawa being worked on on the track (not nice to see) then being taken off.
The marshalls did all they could. I think they were in terrible shock too.
Trackside medical staff are not equiped to do more than anything basic, and it is essential that casualties be taken to the medical centre as soon as possible.
dont happen too often
these days still sad RIP.
