I'm going crazy for a straight answer! I need some new tyres for my RGV250R (1994). The bike is used 90% on the road and 10% track, I like everyone else wants a tyre that will grip like glue when lent over and give me confidence when getting my knee down. I only ride in warm dry conditions and its for fun so no need for long lasting and great in wet conditions!
As the RGV is restricted to 110 and 150 tyres I have looked at 120 and 160s sizes as apparently they will fit.
My dilemma is this, I read so many great things about Dunlop D209s, 211s, sportsmart, Pirelli Diablos, Michelin Piolt Powers etc but they all seem to be aimed at big bikes with a lot more weight and power which I believe will heat the tyres up quicker and therefore grip quicker.
I know that Dunlop offer the Alpha GPR 10 that is designed for the lighter mid bike like my RGV but I feel that it is a compromise between performance and long lasting!
Does anyone know what tyre is going to best suited to my bike? Milage, cost, and wet performance is not on the list but grip, confidence and fast heat up is! ... Help!
