Today, Monday, being on shifts, is most peoples Sunday, so for the first time in proper biker mode, I took my "new to me" bike out for a run
Took a dry run upto Thruxton just to see how long it would take, as well as to feel what agony a 55 year old bloke would expect riding a superbike for the first time at some distance.
Well, feckin brill
Mcn said in their write up about the 929 that the 18ltr tank could be expected to last for approx 130miles, well after 112 miles I refilled and all I needed was 9ltrs, I would guess that my average speed was 70. though I am expecting an envelope to drop through my letterbox in a couple of weeks, as being a twat, I failed to see a speed camera on the 303
I know folks out there read this site, like I did at the begining of my re-experiance biking age, some call it "born again" I say that I could never of afforded this machine when starting out on married life(34 years last Sat), well they like to know are these new age superbikes as scary as some say, well yes, yet so far I am keeping the Fireblade under control and as most 55 year old people, I have lost that daring do, but feck, one must still enjoy. Bum is numb after an hour and the neck hurts after 30mins as well as the wrist and fingers on the left hand(must be a cure)but I cannot express the total enjoyment I am experiancing NOW
