they're giving us yet another damn fine reason to get out.
tis the right thing to do " />
wide open till you see god ... THEN brake
Fancy a brew?
I couldn't give a flying fuck .........about Politics.....But I really do care about the Victims of Murder and their Families and friends........That's all..........Don't give a fuck about the Murderers.....To Be Honest...... I choose to live my life with respect for others and their people.
"No chance to atone"!
It's not like these were crimes of passion; all three murdered more than once and that's exactly why they weren't given a release date. Atonement doesn't come into it.
They are lucky there's no capital punishment. They ignored other people's 'Human Rights' to such an extent that they took away their lives! Now arrogance, time on their hands, greedy lawyers and taxpayers money allows them to bleat about their own imagined grievance, and the idiotic European Court falls for it. Unbelievable!
The only plus-point here is that this absence of common sense is just another nail in the European coffin (-but don't be an idiot by voting for the BNP or UKIP; they have nothing to offer).
one way of looking at it is they are saying we have to review; not that we have to let them out.
i guess another way of looking at it is some people comit crimes so bad that they deserve a whole life tarif and this ias our country and we'll set our own sentences.
ever think that the EU might just be manipulating these sorts of situations to try to make us choose to leave? I could be being paranoid.
well as a ukip voting idiot can someone tell me what they are actually unable to offer??The civil service run things and none of the politicians at present are in any way qualified to RUN the country, they have no common sense and are not real people So you prefer the Bullingdon Boys or the Cambridge Commies,Another fine mess!!!Voting ukip sends them all a real message,,at least with ukip if you are bent you are out,IT takes NO qualification to be an MP in any party so its time we had some real people there!
"Can someone tell me what they are actually unable to offer?"
- Apparently nothing, if you're daft enough to believe what they say. In the London Mayoral elections UKIPs Lawrence Webb was making pledges which the Mayor has no power to deliver, and he was caught out. They're not a new breed of politician. Farage is a former Conservative and banker while UKIP MEPs include a posh farmer, a property developer, more bankers and, I kid you not, The 10th Earl of Dartmouth! Real people, eh?
Albert - Weasel meant its the far right thing to do
Snev - the ECHR was more worried about the ability of one judge on one day to decide a sentance that no one else could ever amend in the future. As Geoff said: ECHR said prisoners should be given an option to petition for parole; but didn't say that such a thing must ever be granted.
James - Human Rights Act does give countries the power to execute
Baza - UKIP lacks a coherent long term policy. Once the scapegoating is done and the core problem remains, we'll merely run out of scapegoats. UKIP frame themselves as the anti-establishment party. This is merely an advertising ruse, they are as establishment as any of the others.
even the "Muppets"....not to mention the producers of "Spitting Images" would get My vote over these Fools....Hell give Clarkson a go.....
Politicians in general....... In My Humble Opinion.
Why cant we as the public, get a party for the people together...normal honest hard working (some ex military) 50% mix gender..surely it would be far better than some of those so called MPs who can only answer a question after their staff have researched the answer for them..
My MFO box got lost and and loads of items were stolen. Contacted by local MP, his secretary said and i quote "thats not our problem"..
'My MFO box got lost and and loads of items were stolen. Contacted by local MP, his secretary said and i quote "thats not our problem"..'
It seems to be the way these days ..I contacted my local MP when I couldn't get the lid off a new bottle of delicious Heinz Ketchup... and I got the exact same response! - Utter bastards!
In the interest of fairness I must add that the last lot in power were no better as I got an equally 'laissez faire attitude' response four year's ago when I contacted my local MP about a missing sock.
"Why cant we as the public, get a party for the people together?"
Um... yeah, vote MCNP.
I hope that answers your question.
**In fairness **
to the EU, its take on human rights is based on that of the UN. So if we're going to opt out, does that mean we'll be opting out of civilised society
Re: UKIP. Most of the UKIP hierarchy seem to be the sort of people who benefit from off-shore tax avoidance. Wonder if that influences their stance on Europe and cross-border co-operation.
Our beliefs and attitudes are what we vote with, and these are dictated by what information we receive. Guess who controls the information flow: http://www.anorak.co.uk/362200/money/fact-v-fear-nine-scare-stories-that-make-mugs-of-the-british.html/
Don't .........Kill Others
Farage is actually asking them face to face ,"Who are you?"
Being a critic (and just plain rude) is the easiest job in the world. What we need are practical ideas. Sadly UKIP don't have any.
It's no use UKIP quoting populist ideals if they've got no idea how to put them into practice without ruining the country. I'm no great fan of the Conservatives or New Labour, and the Liberals have been a disappointment, but the best UKIP can do is to provoke the established parties into using their political nous to make significant changes. As I've said before, UKIP are a lobby group at best, but for goodness sake don't give them absolute power. That would be a disaster.
Don't .........Kill Others "
I quite agree. I don't agree with the death penalty for that reason. Life imprisonment should mean life where the public interest is a consideration. Everyone can be pushed to a point where they can kill, but most don't and those that do usually do it because of a unique set of circumstances (crimes of passion etc) and wouldn't do it under other circumstances. Then there are those that do it because they have no regard for the lives of others. For these, life should be life. Maybe include the possibility of release if the prisoner has a) served a very long sentence, can demonstrate that they are no longer a threat to the public and c) can show they have reformed. BUT, the bar should be set very high! This should be through practical measures (e.g. many years of working with relevant voluntary organisations online (and all monitored!)) and not just at the say so of some-or-other committee. AND definitely no guarantee of release, so could remain inside for life.
Obviously I haven't thought any of this through, but it's Friday, the sun is shining and I just don't care.
Incidentally (and just for a bit of controversy) where would you place people who kill others for the financial gain of their employers." />
