Come on snev
surley you should know better by now " />
dare i say it
in my honest opinion there is not a real biker among us...........really think twenty years ago............they wore a beer t shirt, didnt have a car, had long hair, didnt like shiny shity bikes, every bike that was something had a personal touch...........and they rode everywere................nowadays most talk posh..........never fight.......have the latest plastic fantastic..............only thing left pure biker up here is the blue angels and they aint pretty...............so what is a TRUE biker.......you decide
20 years ago......
I had a CBR1000F..... Plastic Fantastic.....It was Black and Purple and handled like a Blancmange .........did see 168mph on the dial though.........
I had a GPZ 900, one of the last ones built, H reg. Thought it was great, then bought a new Thundercat (a few years later) and in comparison it felt light as a feather, brakes felt like hitting a brick wall and it didn't feel any slower, despite the lack of CCs, just had to rev it more. Had a great affection for that bike, wouldn't mind another now as a project/second bike.
I think you'd have to go back a bit further than 20 years to encounter Ally's real Biker, and he's describing a youth culture so no wonder they're not evident these days.
Brutale will love this topic!
Fuck you Snev and your "love everyone" attitude mr Liberace and your....
out and about today, stopped at hawes and there didnt look to be anyone under 40, so no "youth culture" .
I was in Hawes today, KTM SMT? ..........
Didn't see you Albie? ...............
Would be a problem though ............
I however, would be easy to spot..............
Fish and chips were superb, bit of a queue......
no its not snev
look at the last few pages, its more social media
Was in Hawes....
last week, mid week, and yes, only us retired and off-shift types there. And the bloody chippy was shut!! Still, Penny Garth café is good. Was a Devils Bridge, Kirkby Lonsdale last week too. A bacon and egg butty is £3.35!!!!! If you go to Bull Beck picnic area which is on the way back to Lancaster just outside Caton, you can get a breakfast box of any 6 items for £2.85!!!! Its the snack bargain bikers stop everyone around there should go to, and its good stuff.
why would it have been a problem?? i were over the road outside the cafe having a brew.
I'm happy, snev!
I just love riding my bike and I hate days when I have to use a car instead.
My bike is the most comfortable place in the World and just about the only place I know where I feel truly in control of everything. I can't imagine what I will do when I have to give it up. I have lots of other interests but none of them is a way of life like like biking is.
I enjoy this and several other biking forums. It's a shame about the bickering and hissy fits, but I do find it quite amusing at times.I tend to post a lot more bike related stuff on the other forums as they are far more bike orientated then this one.
BB says it's more like social media and that's very true, except I think anti-social media describes it better on a bad day.
But no matter. I have a good time here, and I have met some nice people and been on some fun rides that I would have missed out on if I hadn't been on this forum. Bike related posts are my favourite, so more of them could only be a good thing
always happy... even managed to get out for a quick spin..
No one is innocent but some are more guilty than others,,
What's not to like
cheeky banter, plenty of bike threads...14 or so on the first page, so I wouldn't call it anti-social media far from it tbh, ok some threads do get a bit out of hand from time to time but we're not all gonna agree on everything all the time, be it bikes of sense of humour. Tis just a forum remember, not the meaning of life
Fortes Fortuna Adiuvat
can hardly call it a bike forum even in a loose term . or I'm Britney spears
Fortes Fortuna Adiuvat
me baby one more time
I did it again,
Is that right?
Well - I've been out on my bike today.
And I've posted a load of bike pictures.
Not a car park or an ice-cream among them.
I hate spelling errors. You mix up two letters and your whole post is urined.
