Bennets insurance cancellation fees are trying to charge my girlfriend £259 to cancel a £119 anual policy? Anyone getting through to ''Rachel'' beware. Don't answer back she gets snotty when challenged. Her figures don't make sence and she spends half an hour running down the office to see her supervisor.

I've also found Bennets to be somewhat tricky to deal with in the past, but thought it was just me having an unlucky experience...

Rachel stutreringly worked by her supervisor no doubt is refering the matter to her manager on monday. Moral of the tale people don't let the bastartds rip you off. They all will try.
Cancellation of a policy cannot cost any more than letting it run for the remainder of the year.
If she kept running to her superiors then she is not properly trained/informed on their products and should not be permitted to speak with customers on the phone
Also, as she did need to keep referring to others I would have politely explained to her that there is not point in her playing piggy in the middle and could I speak to her supervisor directly.
Poor customer service is annoying. Vote with your feet and go elsewhere guys.
This is the price you pay for cheap insurance. If all you want is a certificate making you legal for the year then go for it, but if you want to buy a product with some substance when you need it then it'll cost a bit more. Sorry, that's just how it is, a gamble.
Google "Bennetts Insurance review." I know most review postings will be prompted by bad experiences but they can't even muster 1 out of 5. Now Google "H&R insurance" and give them a try. No guarantees but I've always been happy with them.

Hi, just wondered if anyone out there is having trouble with
I started a policy with them last year (everything hunky
dory). Then I got a renewal letter from them which I replied to. In a nutshell
it had gone up over 14% which I wasn't prepared to pay so I said I'd ring for
classic bike insurance and thought nothing more of it. Little did I know 7
letters later, 2 e-mails and I've lost count of the phone calls and costs
involved. I thought that the policy had lapsed, but no, they automatically
renewed it (keeping my details for a whole year) And now they want a
cancellation fee from me for a lapsed policy that wasn't renewed.
They want money for nothing!
Has anybody tried the national press to get recompense?
